Is it a Boy? Is it a Girl? Not in California — It's "Pat"

California makes it a crime to call a baby a boy or a girl. Instead, it's now legally known as Pat, a reference to a fictional film from the early 1990s where "the central humorous aspect of sketches featuring Pat is the inability of others to determine the character's sex."

Pro Life groups in California have petitioned the state to have the "Pat" designation also apply to a fetus. However the governor's office replied with the following short statement: "Nice try. We're not falling for that."
