How to Survive the Book of Revelation

Things are beginning to shake up in the world. Much of Christianity is falling away from Biblical truth. World governments are arming for war.

If events in the world have you concerned that we may just be in the end times after all, and you've been reading the Bible -- with specific attention on the Book of Revelation -- by now you should be familiar with the first four seals of the sixth chapter of Revelation, commonly called by others the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
On occasion, television stations like National Geographic and the History Channel will do specials with titles like the "Last Days of Earth", "Armageddon", and the "Bible Code", etc. I've caught a few of these shows and have to say that they really don't get into much detail, nor do they really make any attempt to pick apart Scripture, which is where the "secrets" of the Book of Revelation seem to be revealed.

While there may be differing views in Christianity about the first three seals of Revelation 6, I'm sure that all of Christianity can agree that truly life-changing and earth shattering events don't occur until the Fourth Seal is opened.

Revelation 6:7-8 - When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The Time of Wrath

As we're told in the passage above, one quarter of the world's population will die during this time period, because of war, famine, plague, and wild beasts... all unleashed on the world as the first of many judgments from God.

Considering that this is the first massive loss of life in the end times, the opening of the Fourth Seal appears to be when the "Time of Wrath" -- as prophesied in the Book of Daniel -- begins. And according to Daniel, the Time of Wrath is when the Anti-Christ comes to power.

Much of Christianity refers to the Time of Wrath as the Tribulation, but in doing so they don't seem to be doing the Tribulation much justice. Daniel calls it the Time of Wrath, and considering how many people are killed and how much evil is allowed to take place on the earth with the rise of Satan's beast kingdom, this is truly a time that all people should fear going through.

The Bible tells us, in Isaiah:

Isaiah 26:9 - ...When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.

Jesus Christ - the Conqueror of Kings

The Time of Wrath is coming onto the world to essentially serve two purposes. The first is to eventually destroy all evil and all unbelievers and to put the nations of the world under the feet of Christ, who will take control of the world with his armies (at the conclusion of the Time of Wrath) as the "King of Kings and Lord of Lords".

The second purpose of the Time of Wrath, just as the passage above in Isaiah reads, is to teach the people to fear the Lord and learn righteousness.

There are many people in Christianity today who are not walking in true faith. These are Christians who Jesus warns multiples times in chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation to repent. Jesus even goes so far as to warn, "Because you are lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold -- I am going to spit you out of my mouth."

God will Judge His People

As revealed in Hebrews 10:26-31, it is a terrible thing to proclaim Christ in your life, and then to fall away back into the sinful ways of man. God promises to bring wrath. Hebrews 10:26-31 states that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, and that God will judge his people.

Many Christians today are walking on a false sense of security and their entire world is going to come crashing away under their feet when the Time of Wrath begins and they realize that all the warnings in the Bible to turn from their sin are absolutely true. God hates sin. But God forgives our sin when we believe in Jesus Christ, and follow the commands of God. Ask for the Holy Spirit. God is faithful to give his spirit to all who turn to him in repentance.

Staying in Repentance

It's not hard to stay in repentance, if you let the Holy Spirit take complete control of every area of your life, and you make the decision to live by the Word of God (the teachings of the Holy Bible all Christians are commanded to follow.)

Following Jesus Christ is not an option. It is a command.

Readers, I don't know if you have ever walked as a true Christian in the past. If you have, look at your life for a moment. Have there been any hard times in your life since that day you first started praying to God, and maybe you thought you had a relationship with Jesus Christ?... Pay attention to the hard times that have happened in your life. This could be God trying to wake you up and tell you that you are not walking in the faith.

In Revelation 3:19, Jesus says, "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent."

So I say again – look at the things happening in your life –

Is God trying to wake you up?

1 John 1:5 reads:

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

1 John 2:3 reads:

"We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did."

And finally, 1 John 2:9, reads:

"Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him."

If you're not sure if you're walking in true faith, and if you're tired of having darkness control any areas of your life, please pick up the Bible and read in the Word of God how you can be saved, and how you can let the Holy Spirit take complete control of your life, so that you're trained in the ways of God.

You can be saved from the wrath that is coming over the world.

When the Fourth Seal of Revelation 6 is opened, it is going to take most of the world by surprise. Everything we know is going to change in many unexpected, destructive, and terrifying ways.

Of course, those walking in true faith and holding firmly to the commands of God have nothing to fear.

Revelation 3:10 - Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

Final Words

Read your Bibles. Love one another -- even those who persecute you. Purify your thoughts by seeking the transformation of the Holy Spirit. Let God give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. Turn from all sin and seek the rewards promised in the Book of Revelation to God's children who are walking in holiness. Learn how to serve others, and to give -- even when it's hard.

What's more important to you? The ways of this world, which is going to be burned up by fire?

Or the ways of God, which lead to everlasting happiness and pleasure in the Kingdom of Heaven and the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ here on the earth?
